As we celebrate the completion of the 50‑Year Anniversary Habitat for Humanity build, our church is reminded of the quiet but powerful ways God works through willing hands and open hearts. Milestones like this invite us to pause, breathe, and recognize the renewal that comes when we step into God’s work together — not in a rush, but in a spirit of steady faithfulness.

This home stands as a testament to what can happen when the body of Christ comes together with a shared purpose. Built through the combined efforts of the Presbytery Cluster, along with the dedicated service of UTSA students, UTSA ROTC, and AmeriCorps volunteers, this project reflects the strength of partnership and the beauty of unity across our wider community. Every nail hammered, every wall raised, and every prayer spoken over this home was an act of love and service.

Thank you to everyone who showed up — through labor, encouragement, meals, or simply lifting this effort in prayer. Our church family and the Presbytery Cluster continue to shine as a community that supports, serves, and builds hope where it’s needed most.

And as we look ahead, I want to plant a seed for next year’s build. When the time comes, I hope to see our church community raise their hands to volunteer — whether that means opening your checkbook or stepping onto the build site to help raise the walls with your own hands. When I say anyone can do this, I truly mean it. There is a job for everyone. We’ve had volunteers of all ages — including a 94‑year‑old — and all skill levels. So tuck next year’s build into the back of your mind, and let’s make it even better together.

May this home be a lasting reminder that when we come together in Christ’s name, God multiplies our efforts far beyond what any of us could do alone.
