News from the Disaster Preparedness & Assistance Task Force

It is the last chance to apply for the Synod of the Sun Partnership for Disaster Recovery Director position. The application is due by Monday, September 15, 2025. The application can be found here: https://www.synodsun.org/job-board

The Disaster Preparedness & Assistance Task Force received a request from Puentes de Cristo in Hidalgo for 50 cleanup buckets to help families in surrounding colonias with flood cleanup. We were able to immediately provide 13 buckets that were stored in the Rio Grande Valley region, and will coordinate the transfer of more buckets from the San Antonio Region. 

Churches are encouraged to maintain a supply of cleanup buckets and hygiene kits in their region so they can be distributed quickly after a disaster. A church in each region has volunteered to serve as a storage site if needed.
