As the first section of the PC(USA) Book of Order, the Foundations of Presbyterian Polity, provides a vision of what the church is, and thus what the PC(USA) collectively is to be. Central to the vision is mission — the mission of God and the mission of the church and the relationship between the two.

Central to our who we are as Presbyterians, the Foundations of Presbyterian Polity is the focus of articles in 2025, providing an opportunity for exploration and reflection for ruling elders.
