Mission Presbytery has the opportunity to participate in a MARC (Multi-Agency Resource Center) event in Ingram this Friday and Saturday to distribute cleanup buckets and hygiene kits to flood survivors.

The MARC will be located at Ingram Elementary School Cafeteria, 125 Brave Run W, Ingram, Texas 78025 on:
Friday, August 1, 2025, 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
Saturday, August 2, 2025, 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
Many of the cleanup buckets and hygiene kits from around the Presbytery have been brought to San Pedro Presbyterian Church in San Antonio to await transport to affected areas. We need volunteers with large vehicles who can transport the items from San Pedro to the MARC in Ingram. A flatbed cart would also be useful for moving items into and out of buildings.
The Disaster Preparedness & Assistance Task Force (DPA) committed to distributing our disaster kits at the MARC for part of the day on August 1 and 2. Volunteers are needed who can help unload the items and stay to distribute them. At the end of each day, we will need volunteers who can load up remaining supplies into their vehicles and deliver them to FPC Kerrville (Pending information from the people organizing the MARC as to whether we can leave supplies overnight on Friday, August 1. Remaining supplies on Saturday will need to be delivered to FPC Kerrville.)
Please review the available slots on this form to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0548A8AA2DA1FCC52-57727802-disaster
The distribution slots are broken up into two hour increments, plus opportunities to transport supplies. You may sign up for multiple shifts. As we have a limited number of slots, please email me if you don't find a slot and would like to be placed on the waiting list. We just received the call for this event on Wednesday, July 30, so the volunteer needs are not concrete at this point.
We are grateful for the help of Rev. Kathy Lee-Cornell, our Synod of the Sun Partnership for Disaster Recovery liaison, who will reach out to volunteers to help coordinate logistics for this important (and last minute!) volunteer opportunity. Once you sign-up, please keep an eye on your email for more information about the event.
This MARC will serve people living in Kerr County. We are waiting to hear if there will be similar events in other affected counties, and have a few churches who will be creating more buckets and kits in August to replenish our supplies.
Please feel free to forward this message to others at your church who may be interested in helping.
