We at Mission Presbytery have plenty of blessings to be thankful for.
Our Mission Presbytery's stated meeting in June 2025 went very well. Thank you to Rev. Ann Marie and the St. Mark Presbyterian Church congregation. Your hospitality was superb!
For any Presbytery meeting to go well, there is a tremendous amount of work which goes on behind the scene.

After three decades of attending Presbytery meetings, I finally got to see how much energy and focus it takes to pull off such an event.
Credit goes to our formidable Presbytery staff, along with many volunteers, who made this happen.
Our Stated Clerk, Laurie Palmer, has a great sense of humor. Yet, when it comes to nailing down the details of the meeting, she’s unrivaled. Her hard work and laser focus set us up to have a very successful Presbytery meeting.
Melody, our versatile and vigilant administrator, is like the quarterback of the team. She puts together all the moving parts and makes them sync seamlessly.
Jeannie, our bookkeeper, put together the financial statements and prepared for everyone to receive them in a timely manner.
Caitlin, our youth advocate, assembled the thirty nine young people so they could be present for their commissioning at the Presbytery meeting. She got some to even come join us in putting together 10,000 meals for the nonprofit, "Rising Against Hunger" project.
The night before the meeting the youth and their leaders had a sleepover onsite at St. Mark, as they wrote and practiced various elements of the worship service. As most of you know, it is not easy speaking in public. Our youth showed tremendous courage. We thank God for Caitlin and the youth leaders for this challenging ministry.
Henry has been fully immersed running camp for youth at John Knox Ranch all along. After all, this is summer. It’s what he does best. Coming to the Presbytery meeting must have been a break from the relentless, energetic buzz of managing camp staff and the eager youth campers.
I was privileged to see some of these behind the scenes activities in action. It is an incredible ministry.
Indeed, we at Mission Presbytery are blessed beyond measure to have in our midst these talented disciples of Jesus Christ, along with many others who serve our Lord in various congregations. Your work is holy.
As we continue to labor together in the vineyard of the Lord here in our Mission Presbytery and throughout south central Texas, let us lift one another in prayer. The Bible tells us to "Pray without ceasing," (1 Thessalonians 5:17). In these challenging times, prayer keeps us connected to our resurrection hope in Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord.
Let us be quick to say yes in helping to carry one another’s burdens, trusting in God our provider.
Thank you to all of you, for humbly serving our Lord Jesus Christ, wherever you are, with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love!
Gratitude fills my heart. I hope you, too, are receiving and embracing the blessings from above to all of us, as we continue to labor for justice and peace in God's vineyards.
Never ever give up, for God will never give up on us and all of God's creation.
To God be the glory! Amen. Alleluia!
